AMAZON!!!

Hello Darling Renee! Good morning sweetums!!! I am trying to finish my Illustration Friday post and you are going to laugh your head off! HAHAHA!

WOMEN!

What the heck does that say? You know what else. Our biology is all messed up by evolution so that we can sustain life. Why we have menopause for example is so that we can stop bearing children so that we can help young mothers take care of the children and forage for more food.Have you ever heard of the general male population past 50 years old being the primary caregiver of young children? Hmn? Nature also sustains our bodies with a stronger immune system so we can continue being mothers while we are sick!

Damn! I still love my men but holy smokes, this deal about women being more than half of the workforce mostly menial labor is aggravating. Imagine in Moslem countries where they are half of the population and sometimes half educated and have less than half or none of the rights.

I am beginning to think that erectile dysfunction is a the best revenge, as long as it's not my Viking. Of course I am trying to be selfish.

We need to buy more property! This is sad, but enlightening.

Jacinta said...

Amazing.
There are days I think we must be getting conned - and with stats like this, no wonder. And they say we live in an equal society! Gheesh.
Time to relax and take a break I think...

Ces Adorio said...

Okay my friend, what does "partay" mean? I search the dictionary and thesaurus for it and nada!

Do you think once and for all women in those regions would rise up and be martyrs, but they won't because they have to take care of their little sons who will grow up to consider them less worthy.

Dave King said...

I'm not sure, Marion. Sad, certainly, but enlightening?

Sue said...

There is something definitely wrong with that picture!

Wishing you a fabulous Holiday weekend!

Hugs,

Ok I know this is soundless saturday, but man oh man what an impact and a voice Renee.
This is loud.
Happy Saturday Beautiful Woman,
Marie

Ces Adorio said...

Of course not! I am talking about generalizations. There are always exceptions, the martyrs and my director who is one heck of a guy and just adores his mother and sister and wife and daughter and is surrounded by female analysts! Shabang!

Okay, Renee. My comments won't be popular on this issue, but you've always enjoyed my blunt opinions.

As a human resources professional in the publishing world, I can attest that there are companies out there that diligently (especially my own) ensure that women are of the same pay grade as men.

As far as American business is concerned - The problem is within our socialization of women, that we, as a people, don't encourage women (especially young girls) of their monetary worth, and don't encourage them to "ask for what they're worth".

If I'm looking to hire an employee, be it male or female - THE BEST QUALIFIED EMPLOYEE - if my salary budget for their position is, say, $75,000, and they only ask for $70,000, then I'm gonna pay them $70,000. What company who wants to stay profitable wouldn't?

I think (and again, I'm sure I'll get push back on this) that people, be they male or female, need to research what their job qualifications are worth, and ask for more $, hoping to settle on a salary that they should really get.

If a company won't pay women what their worth, then women should never settle, and should take their talent to that company's competitor.

Again, I speak for American businesses. As for the rest of the world, that is another issue, but as Americans we can't babysit the rest of the world (although our government sometimes thinks it should).

The value of a person's worth starts in the home.

I hope you don't hate me for my opinion. I always wish you well, and enjoy your introspective, personable blog posts. And will continue to do so.

-CJ (aka Madtexter)

Are these current stats? Because I thought women were finally catching up and kicking some serious butt!

It does baffle my mind to think of the cultures that treat women as second class citizens. And yes, it does go on here as well in the lower income, poorer places. Not that the rich are immune to being jerks! I've met plenty in my work.

Well I know several strong, smart women who won't stand for any of it! Right Sister raven?

angela recada said...

Unfortunately that shows how amazing and strong women really are. It always annoys me that women are important enough to raise boys to be men, but then we're considered second class citizens to them when they become adults.

This sort of thing really ticks me off, and I could go on and on about how the world men have created needs radical changes, but I'll spare you, dear Renee.
:0)

I'd like to get back to the days (long, long, long ago) when Goddesses were revered and women were considered strong, mysterious and powerful. Or at least I'd like to live somewhere where a woman over 35 is considered attractive and interesting and capable, simply because life experience and the lines on her face make her so much more beautiful, inside and out.

Dream on.

I hope you have a good weekend, dear one.

i have to say, from every fiber of my being, i don't understand how this is so. i never have, i never will. with due respect to men, women are so much more, ah, more "with it", and yet throughout history the power base doesn't reflect that. (actually not true: the 'goddess' was revered before organized religion reorganized things).

is it really as basic as we women are designed and/or choose to put our children and families first? possibly so...

another thought provoking post, renee. you've offered some real mental swings this week!

p.s swing by my place when you get a moment, renee. there's an award waiting for you.

Hello Renee,
Thank you for dropping by earlier today friend. You always brighten my day.

Thank you too for this enlightening piece of information. It is important for all of us to know these less than satisfactory statistics and facts.

It is good to remember that woman and woman's rights have really changed leaps and bounds for the better since I was born. Still it is important not to forget how we got here and to continue the fight for our equal rights as human beings.

I heard Katie Curic taking about the Arab woman on Jay Leno the other night. They are completely denied their rights and freedom.

Thinking of you today, sending you stardust and light!

With love,
COnstance

How did we get it so horribly wrong? The price we pay for being nurturing souls I suspect. Have you thought for a moment that it might have something to do with the influence of mothers on their sons? Too much mollycoddling perhaps and not helping them respect their female counterparts? Even a suicide bomber has to get permission from his mother before he does the deed yet we raise sons who don't fight to change the balance.

We are lucky. We are lucky we do not live in a country where our fathers can sell us for marriage at age 8, where we are not allowed to go to school or drive, where we are circumcized, where our fathers can kill us for shaming the family, or our husbands can slap us for spending too much.

Soundless Saturday, but your post has made it really noisy inside my head and heart.

Aha! You are hiding here! I am leaving any salacious comment off my blog and dumping it here. Hahaha!

Excuse me Madam Tarot Dream Analyzer: I am the wild fire and you and Bella are the common sense? Yeah right? You are the instigator. You even make me blush. Honest to God, I gasp, I gulp, I swallo hard and I hold my breath at some of your comments.

BUTT...

I love you. I do. And I lobve Bella too. And your love is contagious. I am opening up to other bloggers who I am having fun discovering because your enthusiaism for life is infectious. I love that you are unapologetic. I love that you express yourself openly yet tactfully and diplomatically which is really surprising for a liberal.

I love that you are not politically correct and I love that you are kind, gentle and truly caring not just for some but for everyone.

But you are a wildfire!

Ces Adorio said...

I think Bella should come, don't you think? She ought to come. She is welcome anythime.

Don't worry about the Viking. I think he will be beside himself with excitement when he sees me with two wildfires one on each hand!

Ces Adorio said...

Can't you see? I am just playing along in the drawing. I am pretending to be under your control but truly I am just pretending because you are convinced I am a vampyre but Bella is just playing along too. I love your vest! You are very fashionable! Your Moleskine will have a similar drawing. This was on my Moleskine. Yours have full bodies and you are wearing Armani, no not the designer, his clothes line, I mean.

Oh please tell Shelly I love her comment! She is also welcome and she can come anytime!

Bella Sinclair said...

Isn't that any man's dream?

Ces Adorio said...

Hah! It sure is. That inflates their ego, and something else!

I forgot what to say after reading Bella's comment. I'll have to think...

Ces Adorio said...

I am still thinking about the inflated thing and the tube of paint...

Seriously, I bought two dozen paint brushes today and sculpting clay!

Bella Sinclair said...

Dickhead? Oooh, one on each end? Intriguing.....

Ces Adorio said...

Oh Dang! I just read bella's comment about soundless Saturday. You know renee, I come from a country where women may be battered and slapped. I was once walking along Taft Avenue with a Peace Corps Volunteer friend. A man was slapping a woman by the roadside and the woman was so embarassed but she did not try to run away. My friend and I came over and asked why he was doing it. I was so incensed. I wanted to beat up the man but clearly he was mad. He said he had the right to beat his wife. We saw a cop and we told him that the man was beating his wife and the cop told us that he cannot interfere in domestic disputes. For heaven's sake! The man was beating up the woman and his wife of all women! I hate those kinds of men. I hate men and women who abuse others. Then I came to America and in the ER Trauma I saw the same thing happening. Why is it that men think they have the right to beat up a woman? WHY? I love the Viking because he is kind and gentle not just to me but to every woman he knows.

Wow, just shows the whole truth about how under valued we are.

Hope your having a great weekend!

Ces Adorio said...

Ces to Renee:

Renee, I think we have the same law here too. I am not sure if it is nationwide but in our state if someone calls the cops for domestic abuse and the victim decides not to purseue, then the state will file on behalf of the victim. It is in line with the belief that victims are too afraid to call for help for themselves. This is one topic we can discuss for a long time but as mothers it is imperative that we teach our sons and daughters that domestic abuse and violence are abnormal, dysfunctional and criminal behavior. It should not be tolerated.

Karin is always welcome but let us not ruin it by including a Viking, a Brazillian, an Indian, a Hun , a Buddhist or any other form of masculine figure. This is a woman thing. It is the ties that bind, the hand that comforts and creates and you are in the middle of it.

SHABANG!

Not so soundless Saturday!

Ces Adorio said...

Aha! My dear. Today I am off my butt as I attempt to paint the vinegar woman's sisters. I shall think of you when I am painting the cursing fisherwoman sister. SHABANG!

Marie S said...

And Sunday...
We can not have the value, otherwise we would take over the world.
Men beat women to show dominance because they are threatened by brilliance and can not share yet and it is changing, but the beatings will get worse before they get better. Beacuse it is the final struggle before sharing.
CJ I need a job and I am worth millions. Oh and I am working from home.
You all can keep your conjugal beds like pigs in blankets, I just want to hear and enjoy the banter and love that flies through the night and laugh my ass off from the craziness. What a wonderful and juicy world we live in! I am so grateful for people like you all.
Value you yourself sisters and never settle for second best, you don't need that to be loved and cared for, that is all inside you, dig for it. Never settle...
Happy and wonderful sunday beautiful woman, Renee.

Hi Renee, Watch out, you may have to lock it up behind a glass shield with an alarm, lol! Only kidding!

Ces Adorio said...

I am taking a break from painting and I was thinking about your soundless post which is causing a lot of stir.

Aha! guess who is the first one to bring down a woman? Another woman! I see that a lot in a female dominated profession. If a woman wants to compete in a man's world and does things like a man she is considered a bitch! If she uses her feminine ways to gain power, she is considered a bimbo. If she chooses her job over her kids, the way men do, she is considered a bad mother. If she advances herself shadowing her husband she is considered a domineering woman. So SHABANG! She loses one way or the other! I think though the only area where women tend to be open, accepting and inspirational to each other is in the arts. I love seeing the work of other artists and I love that they can do what I cannot do and I love that we encourgae when we struggle and admire what each of us does better or best and back and forth! And I notice the best encouragements come from she who does the best.
