Such dark images....

I love the snow globe image, you standing in the middle holding out your mittened hands to let the snowflanes settle on them .. thank you.

That second image just unnerves me. Can't sleep. Posted stuff and thinking of you. Hugs and love, my dear friend.

These three images are scary to me, but I can't look away - the are compelling! I love the sinister three munchkins in the last one - adorable but sinister.

My thoughts are with you my friend - lots of love and hugs to you!

Good morning Renee, I don't know how you find such great imagery week after week. as others have said, these do have a heavy rather ominous feeling to them, but I'm very drawn to their quirkiness and fabulous technique.
Wishing a window of relief has opened for you.
much love, K

Silke Powers said...

Oh, I just LOVE that last image! The child in the devil costume almost looks scary - were it not for the propeller beanie ... and the lollipop! I don't know the last time I had a lollipop - I think I must remedy that... Thinking of you always!! Love, Silke
P.S. I love the German word for lollipop - Lutscher! (In a goofy mood today)

I agree with Arija...dark today..interesting ...very interesting though...the middle one is facinating. As an artist I look at this and think...this was a really cool way to cover a flubbed up face..but when you look closer..clearly this was the intention..to darken the face. Keep it just out of sight. Disturbing..but facinating!
Love you hon, Sarah

Ha ha, love beanie devil with the sucker stuck in his yap!

Spoooky dudes! All of them! Hoping your day is not spooky..praying the bats are gone and you have a decent day and that the sun is shining in your part of the world. Love to you...lots and lots of it!!

What does it say about me that I absolutely adore these? :) And I think I AM that little guy with the lolly. How are you my friend? I am thinking of you and sending you the biggest hug ever. xoxoxoxox pam

I love the top one today. The artist really captures the look of "holy shit what's next" kind of feel when you're waiting for the villain to reappear!

Lunch is good too. Very ominous feel to it with that little bit of hopeful color.

I don't like dinner today. I'm just not a fan of these weird kids. Although it's well painted and the colors are wonderful ;)

And you're wonderful!
I love you.
xoxoxo

I love these. I didn't really find them scary at all!

Fun fantasy pictures. My hubby and I both love fantasy art. Not too keen on kids looking so scary. We are more into "sissy pretty" fantasy I think.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I love the movie theatre picture! How fun.
And forgot to tell you yesterday that, apart from the different-colored eyes, that kitten could have been our Latte, when he was a baby. Kittens = love! XOXO

I love the first photograph. It reminds me of my husband and I as it looks like they are in a theater and Ronald and I go to the movies every weekend, and they sort of look like impressions of us.

Love you sweet!

I am sitting next to Manon in the theater and we are talking fondly about you!

...and the post below: I am not superstitious but I respect and abide by the local mores and customs as long as:
1) it is not something to be swallowed or ingested,
2) it is not embedded or implanted in my body
3) it does not disfigure, permanently mark or scar my body.

DANG! My word verification is testis. Yikes!!!

You did tackle the shadow side on this fantasy friday didn't you?
I do like the dark though and these are all beautiful.
With out darkness we would not recognize the light.
Love you my pretty, bunches and bunches.

Hello Renee, you are introducing me to most intriguing gifts! I have to say, I have never been really interested in this kind of art work before but it is darn right compelling!! The second one? It's like getting freaked out, but in a good way. By the way, I am going on a adventure on my blog, You wanna come with me? ((hugs))

Bailey said...

Renee! How are you!
I just want you to know I still read your blog, I still love it. However I had to delete mine due to a sort of 'blog stalking' incident if you will.
You may remember my posts about my father trying to contact me, well anyway he found the blog through google I'm assuming and saw the posts about him and one thing lead to another where he just kept emailing me and erk. Not good.
But yes, I shall comment on here as much as I can!
Much much love,
Bailey xox

Bailey: Oh God I am glad to hear from you. I thought you were just busy in school. I tried to get to you but thought you pulled it for school.

What is wrong with some people, seriously.

I love you and am so glad to hear from you.

Love Renee xoxox

Manon said...

Renee..... I may have had a delusional moment...lol! I also went to Catholic schools where most of them were alcoholics...... and they swore. My bad today...lol! Your comment made my day sisterfriend!

We do have some special girls and the most darling grand kids on the planet in my humble opinion. LOL!!

The candle holder reminds me of tulips. I love the soft sagey green the olive makes when it is mixed with white.
Wouldn't it be grat colors for a little girls room too??

I bet she has a wonderful accent.
Renee going to the highlands and the north sea in Scotland is on my bucket list.
I know I would love it there.
I love the Scots they are such a strong and salt of the earth people. I love the frankness. I understand your mother and why you are so unique a little bit more now.
Thank you!!!

Marie S said...

An admirable quality, I respect that. At least there is no question about where you stand right? lol Or where she stands for that matter.

Barbara said...

A tad dark, don't ya think?
The movie theater...hmmmm. Day of the Dead?
And the kid with the sucker? Up to no good.

Unknown said...

I guess my comment this morning didn't work.
I hope you had a day full of light and love.

I thought of Joan of Arc with the middle picture. Love that.

BLD are great today Renee, although
I think L is giving me a bit of a queasy stomach. Something about blacked out faces that I find rather unsettling.

Breakfast? In the next frame you would see little urchin in the second row sticking that straw into her nose by mistake.

Dinner...love these snotty little kids! I want to throw them all in a room - after freeing the birdies on their heads. Fly away little birds!

Wishing you a batfree weekend beautiful lady!

Hugs!

Wishing you a restful night, Renee. I'm heading to bed but not before I say a little prayer. Have a blessed day tomorrow. Hugs and love to you!
