K = Angels And Goddesses
Kakabel is the Angel of the Stars and rules over the constellations. He is also known as the Star of God.
Kakabel is a powerful angel and is considered by some to be a holy angel and by others to be a fallen angel. Whether in Heaven or Hell he commands 365,000 spirits and is instrumental in astrology.
Kuan-Yin (also known as Quan Yin in Vietnam; Kannon in Japan, and Kanin in Bali) is special to me because she is special to my darling muse Allegra.
Kuan-Yin is the Chinese Goddess of Compassion and her name means ‘She who hears the weeping world.’ Even after enlightenment Kuan-Yin was willing to keep her human form because of her deep concern for human life. She has never turned away from anyone’s cries, no matter how often she has been asked for mercy and wisdom.
Kuan-Yin encourages her followers to exercise compassion toward all beings and to live non-violent lives. Kuan-Yin is one of the most beloved deities in the Buddhist tradition. She is the embodiment of compassionate loving kindness. As the Bodhisattva of Compassion, she hears the cries of all.
Kuan-Yin is often represented as a many armed figure, with each hand either containing a different cosmic symbol or expressing a specific ritual position or mudra. This characterizes the Goddess as the source and sustenance of all things. When Kuan-Yin’s hands are cupped it is symbolizing the womb as the door for entry to this world through the universal female.
Kuan-Yin is unique among the heavenly hierarchy in that she is so utterly free from pride or vengefulness that she remains reluctant to punish even those who deserve a severe lesson.
Kuan-Yin is the one who regards, looks on, or hears the sounds of the world. She is an enlightened being who embodies the attributes of an all pervasive, all consuming, unwavering loving compassion and makes herself available to everyone.

Fabulous post, I'm glad I stopped by.
Thats so beautiful and delightful!!!
Hope you are doing great day...Isn't Bella's artwork on you fabulous:)
At last Goddess with whom i can fully identify.
Oh, so lovely! I've long been familiar and loved Kuan-Yin, but Kakabel is new to me! How are you today, Angel?! Sending much love!! Silke
Good morning Renee!
I am drawn to the second image Kuan-Yin , how beautiful she is!
How are you ? you are in my thoughts as always.
XOXO
You would think with 305,000 hangers-on it would be come clear where he was, would you not?
I love the pictures of these two angels. What amazing artwork! I wonder why Kakabel has 365,000 spirits? I am so happy to learn about Kuan-Yin, and her compassion for us. Renee, you never cease to amaze me. xoxo Pam
Thank you for posting this! Beautiful.
There ... I was just thinking about you and here you are. Good morning dear heart, I hope you are feeling a little better ... a little???? What am I saying??? I hope you're feeling a whole lot better Renee but even a little would be nice.
Kuan-Yin sounds like my kind of angel. Compassionate ... I like that. But the picture of Kakabel is more in line with how I think of angels so I guess they span a number of interpretations.
Ha ... talking about angels again. Perfect. xx Jos
Very uplifting post to find on Monday morning. Maybe I should be more compassionate about Mondays.
Good morning! Oh man! I look up to the skies first thing in the morning when I go out and last thing when I go in but never envisioned Kakabel. He sure looks like the perfect eye candy. My star gazing and sky gazing experience will never be the same. I wonder if those mighty wings will get in the way! Flap them baby, flap them!
As for Quan-Yin, a goddess indeed to hear so many cries. She must inhabit every airline passenger sitting next to a mother with a CRYING toddler!
I like these guys.
I am also partial to Kuan-Yin...yes!! I love that she has unwavering loving compassion.... we should all be like this! : )
I just got back from AZ and I had a lovely card waiting for me... yes.... I liked it a lot!! ; ) Thanks you my dear friend!!
love you Renee!

Good morning, Renee,
Love this post and have been thinking about you and telling my Mom about you this weekend.
I am so happy to have her staying with me and my sister Mary came over yesterday to spend the day and stayed overnight. I don't get to see family all that much, so I am in heaven.
I hope you are having a good day today.
xoxo
I love you Renee. I just visited a blog where I saw a comment from you and I busted up laughing. See, you are so real. You never pretend to possess any emotions or ideas just to appease something you don't get or like by saying fancy and elevated statements, yet you mange to make the other person retain her or his pride. YOU ARE SO REAL and I love you. That is why I was attracted to you in the first place. You are never a hypocrite, you never pretend. You are so real. You are truly compassionate. You are a true gem and you are my angel. You and Bella are angels, peas in a pod.
Sometimes Kwan Yin is depicted holding a small, slender vase. It contains the Balm of Compassion made from the tears she sheds for the suffering world. She holds the vase upside down so the Balm can pour out. May Kwan Yin's compassion surround you today and always, Renee.
I love these posts about angels and goddesses! It's always fascinating to read how different people and cultures have interpreted and perceived them throughout time. When you open your mind to them, you see that angels come in all shapes, sizes and colors. I see them everywhere these days, but you already know that!
Sending you all my love today and always, dear friend.
Hugs,
xoxoxo

Kuan-Yin has always been a favorite of mine - she embodies all I aspire to and what I fall so far short of. Still, gives me soemthinf to aim for.
My dear Renne Kuan-Yin must be 1 of my 11 angels. She is beautiful. Is her name pronounced the same as Khan? I am hoping and praying to her that she will see us all here weeping with you, and will send her compassion to at least shrink the tumor that you could be comfortable. Love you Renee .
Camille how I love and admire you. What a wonderful big sister you are to me and Jacquie.
How we adore you.
Love Renee xoxo
The frame you found sounds gorgeous! I'm so glad you like your angel, dearest. I told kj this about hers, too - when I painted them I cleared my mind of everything except feelings and thoughts of who the angel was for. Then they just flowed from me, and I feel that they were never mine. They just came though me, and have always been yours. Their faces were never clear, since what I felt was pure Spirit. At the time this facelessness disturbed me a bit, but then I understood. It still gives me goosebumps and shivers to think about how I felt while painting them! I hope you find a frame that your dear Jacquie will love, too.
I'm off to my annual visit to the oncologist for a new prescription for my miracle pills. Cancer sucks.
Love you, darling,
xoxoxo

Kuan-Yin is a favorite of mine too and isn't that picture you found of her gorgeous?
I would love to have that many arms. Happy Monday my Pretty.
Have a magical one!
Love and huge hugs.
Oh, I do love Kwan Yin! I have a statue of her in my dining room and one in my living room. I so relate to her. Thanks for this great post, Renee. I love you and wish you a good week. Love, Hugs & Blessings, dear friend of my heart...
That's one of the lovliest pictures of Quan Yin I've seen. I may snatch it ;)
She has always been one of my favorites. If I could be one tenth like her I'd be proud.
How are the bats dear sister?
Have they gone to Newfie yet?
I'll let you in on a secret. I don't get the cactus thing either!
I fake it here and there because I love the ladies in the group. Plus it's an artistic challenge and I do love a challenge.
I even took up a challenge on Blogland lane yesterday and wrote 2 poems in five minutes.
Hey, I didn't say they were GOOD poems!
Sending bushels of love to you, Jacquie and Daisy.
If I could I'd send you a lifetime supply of "Bats Be Gone."
xoxoxoxo

Hi Renee, I loved the second photo, just beautiful. It all sounds very interesting to me. Sorry to here you were not feeling well over the weekend. I hope today is a better day. take care.
I will tell you a story Renee...the weeks preceeding my Reiki level 1 training..Kuan Yin showed up in so many places in my life..so often that period that I finally looked her up online. I had never heard of her before. I was deeply struck by what she represented. When I walked into my new Reiki Masters training space..there on the wall was a stunning painting of Kuan Yin. I was and continue to be deeply touched by her presence in my life. This is huge as I tend to be pretty monotheistic myself. So I guess I would say that if there is a Goddess that I feel touched by it would be Kuan Yin! Thank you hon for the wonderful post!! I love these! Love you too...Sarah
Thank you for the reminder about Kwan-Yin. She is so beautiful, and what a gift to the world her maternal love and unending compassion are. How much we all need that!
May her light and love surround you and infuse you with all that you need today (& always), dear Renee! XOXO
Pretty, but i must say that if angels were real, like their illustrations and one knocked at my door I would be freaked- what a job for poor Kuan-Yin...listening to weeping and grief and saddness all the live long day and well into the night. Her statues are sweet and a gentle reminder to be more compassionate...and though she is lovely, her job would be a drag.
I love both these angels and if kakabel is the angel of stars, he has to be a good.
Love and hugs Renee. xoxo ♥
I have a dear sweet K , who is no longer here on earth.
Thank for sharing this, Renee. She would love that I thought of her in reading this about Kuan-Yin.
And that the message is taken to heart.
may you have a peaceful and love filled day.
If you win, yes you can have a base, maybe a cloud for her to rest upon and watch over you.
I swear you are psychic, I was thinking about bases to go with some of the ideas all day yesterday. There are some great ideas to work with.
LOL, word verification "master"
I don't remember you telling me that. LOL!!!
But you could have.
I feel different too, Renee!!!
I hope your bones are right.
Harhar!!!
I Love you!!
Oh I forgot to tell you, I love your new banner.
Madi wants to type too,she says "hi auntie Renee"!!
We are both very blessed in our gorgeous granddaughters.
Madi stopped banging on the computer after I typed her message to you. Too funny, this girl!
Thank you, Renee. I now have a new Goddess to add to my prayer Rolodex. She is beautiful.
How funny that you should mention Kakabel. I have a skylight over my bed in my new home, and I often watch the stars just before I close my eyes. Now I know who to thank for that.
I like peas. And there is definitely room for a third.
All my love.
Great Post, Renee.
How are you, btw?
Angels and Goddesses. Renee love, do you know that you are my angel and goddess. I ain't going to worship you,(darn huh lol)but I do so adore you. I was just thinking of the picture of you and Wahid, you shine lady, you shine. love having you in my world.
always DPG
dang, i wish i could look like kuan-yin!
Kuan-Yin sits on my bedside table. I've had her for many years. I love her.
maybe it's time for her to take a trip to Canada. do you have your own Kuan-Yin dearheart Renee?
Thank you Renee, I have really enjoyed reading this today.
I'm going to make time to talk with Angels today, thanks to you.
big love
Ribbon xx
You've been on my mind, too Renee. I wanted to stop by early, but ran out of time this morning before I had to go to docs - where I was met with big surprise. My first round of chemo! Seven hours later, I'm home, but you were on my mind all day as I thought (once again) how amazing you are, with all you do for others and the writing here nearly every day, even with all you have going on... all I want to do is curl into a ball and sleep. Guess what? that's what I'm going to do!
love you,
Karin
I do so enjoy goddesses and feminine divinity, women counted in some culture's divine history! I love all of your commentary and art choices! Happy New Year and here's sending you some big hugs!
these are two wonderful deities and angels! The art of them is magnificent. May they both look after you!
Aww, dearest. I am enormously, humongously flattered. But it is true, we are cozy and so full of love.
Kuan-Yin who embodies unwavering loving compassion and makes herself available to everyone is the ANgel for me! You always are in the inside Angel track. I wonder what this must mean?
;-)
Love from a tiny town in east T.,
Constance
so you bought a frame for angela's angel? what kind? i look at mine and swoon. they were THE best christmas presents. i love angela.
i laughed when i read camille's comment because it began: My dear Renne Kuan-Yin. i said, aha, so that's who you are!
okay renee kuan-yin, how about allowing me to reaffirm that i love you so very much and i am scheming to eradicate the bats. batsbegone.
♥
Actually, Kuan Yin is a male and a monk(when in human world)..but..i don't really know how he became a female..and became the Goddess of Mercy...
What an interesting post. I really enjoyed it, and the pictures as well! xoxo
Yes it is Effie!!!!
Please send her to your mom in her namesake....
We must be linked at a higher level Renee...
Effie is an unusual name that popped into my head and I love the name...
Effie the Valentine Elf going to Effie the wonderful mum of my dearest friend and loved one Renee...
i'm glad you're feeling better. you are a trouper.
you aren't fooling anyone, moon sister. your heart is as big as alaska and texas. and you are wicked smart. do you think no one notices?

you're kidding no one except maybe the bats.
:)
ps come back to my blog ms. renee sweet friend, new post. you should not be subjected to repetition even if the post was all about you. :)
I can feel you, you know:)
Just know that I love you.
Really.
Thank you for loving me and helping me see balance here....
xxx
I always love hearing more about Kwan-Yin. She has taught me so much about compassion for self as a deep lesson before one can be compassionate to others.
I just fell in love with Kuan-Yin...Now I want to do more research into her and other deities..Ty for the insight.
love ya lovey xoxoxox
This is beautiful, she is beautiful. I loved your writing too. I like her.
kuan-yin is one of my favorites--did you know?: her father did not want her to become a nun, so he had her killed when she refused to marry as she was ordered to do. when death came for her and took her to the underworld, she was still so loving and so beautiful in her interactions with the other souls there that they said she transformed hell itself into a paradise. as a result, death allowed her to return to earth, and later she saved her father's life in a particularly selfless act...
Kuan Yin sounds beautiful!
