Page 123

Come share something that is in your life with me.

1.  Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).

2.  Name the book.

3.  Open the book to page 123.

4.  Find the fifth sentence.

5.  Post the next three sentences on my comment space at the end of this blog.

A Course In Miracles by Helen Schucman (birthday gift from Elizabeth)

If it is not relinquished entirely it is not relinquished at all.  Fear and love make or create, depending on whether the ego or the Holy Spirit begets or inspires them, but they will return to the mind of the thinker and they will affect his total perception.  That includes his concept of God, of His creations and of his own.

Wow, this is kind of a weird exercise.  I like it.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

"I was trying to warn her," Artie said weakly.

Artie returned to his table. He drew hypodermics one after another.

I can't wait to look at some of the other comments!

Happy Friday!

Hi Renee, this is interesting!!

A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle

Cooperation is alien to the ego, except when there is a secondary motive. The ego doesn't know that the more you include others, the more smoothly things flow and the more easily things come to you. When you give little or no help to others or put obstacles in their path, the universe - in the form of people and circumstances - gives little or no help to you because you have cut yourself off from the whole.

Hi Renee,

Beauty Tips From Moose Jaw by Will Ferguson

On the flight up from Winnipeg, the cultivated farmlands of the Canadian prairie fall away. The logic of straight lines is transformed into the whorls and curves of the Red River Delta; the Red - the only major river that flows into Canada ends in a swirl of indecision. We fly above the gun-metal glow of Lake Winnipeg, pulling the shadow of our plane across the surface of the water.

Hi Auntie Renee,
Great idea! Underground to Canada by Barbara Smucker.

"In a moment of quick anguish, Julilly knew that she and Liza looked like them. They did not smile or say where they came from. There was just a grateful silence of acceptance."

Hi Renee, I am new to your blog through reading about Andrea...I love & pray for you both.
Compassion In Action by Ram Dass & Mirabai Bush
"Listen...do you hear the children playing outside? Instead of pushing against them as not-us, let's expand outward to include them inside ourselves. And the light coming in from the drawn shade, let the light be part of our bodies. Let's keep expanding to contain it all."

A Return To Love
by Marianne Williamson

"All of a sudden, the perfection we glanced on the spiritual planes becomes projected onto the the physical. Instead of realizing that spiritual perfection and physical, material imperfection exist simultaneously, we start looking for material, physical perfection. We think someone's spiritual perfection isn't enough."

Thanks everybody for joining me in this little adventure.

I love all your quotes. Holy deep readers in the group. I, myself, usually read fluff.

Welcome Donna and John (fiance, hee hee).

Donna thanks for your love and prayers. Andrea is amazing.

HI Renee Love you of course. I will write the words - you guess the book lol

My attention has drifted. "Read that again child" says grandma. Twenty down. 'Monkish monkey' Eight letters, second letter, 'a', last letter'n'
." _a_____n".She smiles, her unseeing eyes turn in my direction. To Grandma I am a dark shadow against a somewhat lighter background. "That's pretty good, eh?" Bit of scrabulos!

Boy, see I have tough sisters.

If anyone can help me with Camille's comment, please do so.

I even thought the monkey was a baboon but that is only 7 letters.

I am still trying to figure out the name of the book.

Love Colette

Atonement: Ian McEwan

She was skeptial, because she knew the tricks the mind coulp play.

At the same time, her mind was --in every sense-- where she was to spend the evening, and she had to be at ease with herself.

She stepped out of the black crepe dress where it fell to the floor, and stood in her heels and underwear, surveying the possibilities on the wardrobe racks, mindful of the passing minutes.

This is a great idea my book is called ASH WEDNESDAY and it is
written by ETHAN HAWKE the actor.

"People think ceremonies like marriage, confession, confirmation, baptism are just tradition and ritual, and certainly they can be. Indeed they most often are. But they are meant to be something richer; an orientation, a return to center, a refocusing, a cleansing. And confession is the most understood. SIN itself is not something you should feel guilty about. The sin itself is the punishment. Are you following me?"

hypocrite in a pouffy white dress by susan jane gilman

When he says these things, she suddenly realizes that the man she has idolized for so long is in fact vulgar and arrogant. When Mik Jagger said to me, "you've got the biggest titties," I simply stood there astonished. For one moment, my insecurity and self-loathing, my bickering parents, my loneliness and fear all melted away. I looked at Mick, and I beamed . I said simply, "Thank you."

What a great way to share Renee!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

But the smile vanished from his face at once: Viktor Krum had dropped into Luna's vacant seat. Hermione looked pleasurably flustered, but this time Krum had not come to compliment her. With a scowl on his face he said, "Who is that man in the yellow?"

I really enjoyed reading all the other posts.
Love ya Renee

Ten Lost Years 1929-1939 Memories of Canadians who Survived the Depression by Barry Boardfoot.
I always felt he resented it, but he knew he still had a good thing in Eleanor and me and so he let it stand. It wasn't too bad an arragement, as it stood. Until.

See you soon. Donna

Hi Auntie Renee,
I was thrilled about this exercise seeing how much I love reading! So, excitedly I opened my book (all the while thinking wouldn't it be funny if that page was blank?) ... i'll be damned!!-IT WAS BLANK - you've got to be shitting me!!!! So much for the Memory Keepers Daughter!
Now that I'm onto my next book I thought now it would be super funny if this books page was blank - WELL HELL! AGAIN!!
in otherwords, i am not to be participating in this exercise!

Regardless,
