change is a coming. i think of my wonderful friend in iran and i just know the day will come in her lifetime when imbalance and injustice will no longer find the light of day. each of us, in every small and every possible way, has a part in assuring freedom for all. i love that you continually drive that message home, my darling friend.

Oh my gosh can you imagine? Not me. I like having rights. when you think of third world countries whose women can still be murdered for talking to a man. How lucky we are. Happy 4th to all.

Here in the U.S., women got the vote, and before long we had two world wars. Now, gas prices have soared, church attendance has plummeted, and we're having global warming. If only we could go back in time!

What's the point? It's the same everywhere. The very rights drawn up in the Constitution to protect the people comes right back and bites you leaving you bones when it's through.
We need changes that nurtures and build up and we can always go back to a foundation that has been set, that can be depended upon..

If "Married to the Sea," is the artist, would the family's motto be Omnes ad marem, meaning "All at sea"?
I raise that because "all at sea" seems a fitting portrayal of the men in this picture. Even if they had the ink they needed.
Sadly, we haven't come far enough. (I say this as a male Bear.) But then, the question might be asked,"Why should women lower themselves to mens' standards?"
Chew on that one for a while.

I came here through your friend kj, who I just met, but I already like a lot.
I liked a lot this post, the cartoon is great, you know it reminds me of how things are working now in my country (Argentina).
We have a severe porcine flue epidemic, which could have been stopped, but since there where elections going on in the senate and the other one, they did not stop things for a week or 10 days (like in Mexico), they just continued as if nothing was going on, without taking any preventions. so an important part of this flue victims that could easily prevented was not. Activities weren't interrupted So they vote for the official party, and don't have time to change their minds. Elections are over now, and the virus is spreading at an amazing speed, because they left time for people to incubate it and at the same time transmit it.
Of course someone has to pay for this, which was the ex-health minister, who has been discharge and been head accountable for.
