C = Angels And Goddesses

Camael is an angel who presides over beauty, joy, happiness, and contentment. Camael is the Chief of the order of powers and is one of the holy Sefiroth. Camael personifies divine justice and is listed as one of the seven truly powerful angels who have the great honour of standing in the very presence of God.

Camael’s name means ‘He who sees God.’

The angel Camael is credited with having authority over a mighty force ‘The Angels of Destruction’ and is honoured as the chief of the ruling princes of the angelic choir.

Camael is also thought to be the angel of the garden of Gethsemane who gave comfort and encouragement to Jesus in the terrible hours prior to his arrest. Some people believe that Camael is the angel of divine love and the gatekeeper of heaven.

Ceridwen is the Celtic Goddess of wisdom and magic and her name means blessed poetry.

Ceridwen had three children, a beautiful daughter, an ugly but strong son and another extremely ugly son. The youngest and ugliest son had no skills that would compensate for his horrible looks and so Ceridwen in her role of Goddess of Magic decided to brew a potion that would give her son the gifts of poetry and wisdom.

The potion took a year to brew and Ceridwen employed a blind man and a young man to tend the fire, three drops from the potion fell on the young man and he was given the gifts of poetry and wisdom instead of her ugly son.

Ceridwen was so any that she chased the young man down. He tried to turn into a rabbit but she turned into a dog then he turned into a fish and she became an otter, then he turned into a bird and she became a hawk. Finally he turned himself into a grain of corn and she turned herself into a hen and ate him.

Ceridwen soon found that she was pregnant and she knew it was the young man being reborn and that he would remember his previous life. She swore that she would kill him when he was born but the baby was so beautiful that she couldn’t do it. Instead she wrapped him in sealskin and set him out to sea. The baby was rescued by a Celtic prince. He grew up to be one of the greatest bards of Celtic history.

Renee - you are a marvel. How do you know all of this? Are you a historian? When I read things like this, I realize how much I don't know! I always wondered who was with Jesus at Gethsemane. Camael sounds like a very powerful angel, indeed. The story of Ceridwen is just fascinating. Elements of the story of Moses there at the end. Fascinating stuff to ponder. My love to you - xoxox Pam

This is such an amazing story. The Celts have such magic in everything they do. You might enjoy a look at the book Anam Cara by John O'Donohue. It is spiritually deeply in sync with me and it may be for you as well. It is full of short writings. Your post was lovely and fun to read. Thank you.

Ceridwin- I have had days like that- I have sent so many seal skins down river I can not even tell you! That was a most entertaining story. thank you Ms. Renee- I would say that you are most likely the first angel- all full of compassion and good stuff...I wish you all the strength that can possibly be mustered. Thanks for the angel tales! LOVExxxooo

That second myth is almost dream-like. Some sort of metaphor about the inability to destroy what you have created, and finding beauty and meaning in whatver you are given.

Oh, my God. What a story! I love the idea of three extremely ugly children. I don't know why that makes me laugh -- I know that's it's allegory, symbol, etc. But it does make me laugh. The rest of the story is fantastic. Thank you so much for posting!

Oh goddesses and angels and angels and goddesses, may I have some more please? My goddesses are Isis and Quanyin, they live in this house and protect those I love.
Today is joyful and I don't even know why, but I am so grateful for it. The waning Gibbous Moon always makes me melancholic but today it doesn't seem to have that effect. Come and share a cup of joy, I want to share it with you.

Thank you for the response, as always it touches my heart in ways I could never find the words to describe. Love to you this morning, wrapped in joy of course.

I love the story of Ceridwen-a page turner-in miniature! I am glad the poor man survived as a bard, but feel sorry for the ugly son-I wonder what happened to him.

from one-sometimes-dear goddess to another most-of-the-time dear goddess: we should be partying. does it count if i'm dancing with my zinnias?

this week it's extra prayers to include allegra. it's fortunate i have more prayers and intentions to share then i'd ever need. funny that the more i use the more i have. my little silk bag is full to the rim. every once in a while a special prayer pops out and it has your name on it. "renee," it says. just 'renee'. and when that happens, i say, 'oh renee. yes, my goddess moon sister who has pull with the universe.'

then i put my little silk bag back in my pocket, and i smile.

I have to learn more about these angels...

I'm feeling awkward asking you this, but did you get anything in the mail from me recently? I posted a small package quite some time ago and never heard back from you, so I'm guessing it never made it to Winnipeg... Oh dear.

How are you? Sometimes I tiptoe in here and leave quietly without a word because I'm afraid if I write a silly comment in the hope to cheer you up and I get the timing wrong and make it all worse, you might misunderstand my intentions. You know what I mean? Over-discreetness, they call me.

I'm always thinking of you, my dear Renee. I pray to my own made up guardian angels to hover over you and your family, to bring you all healing and solace in these tumultuous times.

I have not been my cheery self lately and that too has kinda made me disappear. I post stuff to relelase.

Let me know if anything comes in the mail, otherwise I have to go put up a fight at the post office.

Ciao my darling friend, I love you.

Renee, I've never heard this story before.Wonderful. I want to hear more about it, though you told it so well. I'm so interested in origins of these stories, how they get passed down. There is comfort in the idea of angels. I think they're out there. Hugs to you and yours. I hope you're doing okay.

Best, Barbara

Har har indeed! Do you want to hear a bad and possibly tasteless joke? It made me laugh like a drain, not sure why.
It was told by a very deadpan American comedian on some silly programme I am watching.
"My manic depressive friend was attacked by a bi-polar bear" The only jokes I can ever remember are bad puns, so I can add it to the list.

It makes me happy to know that there was an Angel in the garden with Jesus, with the weight of the world and the destiny all humanity on Him. Our priet once said that in those hours Jesus experienced the pain of all sin to come...such love. All my love to you, Deb

Hello, my dearest Renee. I still hold you tightly in my heart. The thought of all these mighty angels waiting for us in heaven is comforting.

I love these stories. Utterly fascinating. Oh my. How sad. No hope for the ugly talentless son. :(

I changed my mind. I don't want to be a goddess. I want to be like the Landlady in KungFu Hustle. She has amazing powers. Ask Bella about her. If I can't be the Landlady then goddess is okay. On that note, a sweet goodnight to you dear Renee. Are you feeling better dear?

Good night sweetpea, I am exhausted but mostly stressed out. I managed to break one of my beautiful porcelain caps and no dentist until tomorrow. My mouth hurts and I have some ice handy. Oh the joys of chemo that ruins your beauty - assuming one has some, puffs you up and out and makes you look like a toothless wonder when you least expect it. One cap is not the end of the world but...I just hope the tooth fairy will give me a pass for this one.

Good night darling, love and hugs from your aching friend.
