Times Three No. 11

Sheldon took his oxygen off; put his hand above his head and fell asleep at 4:30 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009. Uncle Joey was sound asleep beside him and the nurse woke Joey up to let him know that Sheldon had gone.

Birds kept flying in circles at the window. They wouldn’t leave; just fly up to the window and hover. When Nadalene and I left she pointed and said ‘Mom, look at the birds they are still there, they just keep circling outside Sheldon’s window.’

Josephine said ‘Sheldon, Mama, Sheldon?’ Angelique turned her head in the kitchen but no one else was there. Angelique said “Uncle Sheldon.” Angelique asked Don, did you tell Josephine I had gone to the hospital earlier to see Sheldon and Don said no. Later when Don and Josephine were sitting in her castle Angelique heard the following conversation between them. ‘Did you see Uncle Sheldon today?’ “Oui.” ‘Where did you see Uncle Sheldon?’ “In the kitchen Daddy.”

Jacquie, Nadalene and I are sitting in Jacquie’s hospital room and on the shelf are a rubber wheelchair pad and on top of that a neck pillow. We are talking and Jacquie starts crying. The pad and the pillow fly off the shelf and land in the middle of the floor. So where there were three, there must have been four.

Mom is saying her rosary and catches a reflection. She looks again and realizes it is not a reflection but a park bench with my father and Sheldon sitting on it. My mother has always seen shadow people, but they weren’t shadow people.

How powerful. Sheldon was coming to let all of you know that although he is gone in body, his spirit lives on and he is and will always be in your lives. God bless him for letting you know that in such a profound way.

Dearest Renee,

Children, animals, and those with open hearts and minds, know things and see things that so many people are blind to. Your dear Sheldon will be with you always. Just out of reach, but always there. Soaring joyfully with the angels.

I am so glad that he was able to give you signs, and that you saw them.

Love and hugs,

The body may fail but the Spirit Lives. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust but the Spirit is not of this world. It remains and manifests itself to comfort those that need comfort, to show that even though the body is gone, the Spirit is eternal and will be with you forever. May God Bless and keep you, May he shed his Light upon you and grant you Peace. Sheldon is among friends running care free again with those that have gone before. Blessings to you during this time of reflection. May tears give way to Joy's of memories shared, hands held, Love spoken, time together, of hopes and dreams... and may these glimpses of Spirit give you the Faith to Believe in that which is Greater than all. Even the darkness of death can't keep the Light from shining. It's the Promise and Grace of Eternal Love that guide us into the Light of the Glory land. This world is temporal, but we will meet again in Eternity. Peace and Love pour out to you and your family today and always. Love and Light, Nina P

Sheldon is all around each and every one of you. Josephine may be able to see him best. I think he'll be near Jacquie mostly, don't you? He just won't have her falling apart. He'll be her guiding light.
So many of us have all of you in our thoughts and hearts.

How wonderful that he came to say goodbye. Even after leaving, coming home once more to ease your pain and loss.
It is no coincidence that he appeared to all of those he loved.
He is free now, from pain and fear, at peace.
I am so sorry for all of your to lose such a beautiful soul, so young and full of hope. May his "appearance" to all of you give you comfort that his love is still with all of you.

Oh Renee, this is beautiful...beautifully sad, beautifully perfect. Sheldon needs the family to be okay with his early parting. I do believe that he is showing you that he will never be gone, that life IS eternal, that Jesus rising from the tomb is not just a nice story, but the God Given Truth. So much love I have for you and your family. Deb

i do have to tell you tho, i found comfort in some of the things your family have experienced. i lost my 29yr old neice last thanksgiving in a car accident. she was a the most precious gem to all of us and many. the days after her passing we too have witnessed brianna's spirit among us many times for about a week after funeral. so many unbelievable things kept happening. it was really her, renee. just like that was really sheldon with u all. keep all your senses keen as he probably still is embracing you all.

my prayers are with u all.

Knowing that Sheldon's presence continues to assure and support the ones he loves is a given; having such concrete evidence in a time of mourning is a blessing. The love and sensitivity between you all is so beautiful, though that isn't nearly an adequate word. Seeing beyond the boundaries of time and place is one I'm so grateful you, and yours, have. Thank you for sharing this 'being-ness' with us Renee. I love you so,
Karin

You know what my friend? I have taken care of so many dying patients and the good and the blessed ones are always "fetched" and the harbinger of death hovers around. Nurses who believe in the messengers and fetchers do not swat flies that managed to get into the patient's rooms or shoo birds who linger and peck on glass windows. We do not restrain patients who reach out to someone we cannot see as if being lifted or led. We bow our heads, close our eyes make the sign of the cross and sometimes bites our lips. We are going to be busy that day, perhaps the last busy effort for a certain someone whose loved ones have come to fetch him or her. Our scientific training has been exhausted in saving the life of a patient and we now submit to the spirits. It is a beautiful and comforting feeling to know that the human spirit lives on and does not die with the worn out body. Good bless your family. God bless Josephine, the children always see them, don't they? I love you Renee.

Touching darling. When my mother passed the most beautiful red and blue parrots arrived. Just for a while, then they left and I haven't seen more than one or two a year since then. I like to think she was just checking in before moving on. I don't know but it was strangely comforting.

When my daughter passed away a bird sat on my moms window sill for days, flying off and coming back to tap on the glass. We found comfort in that. On the day of the memorial service the little bird flew off and didn't return.

I am so sorry for your loss...my Grandfather passed a few months ago, just as my cousin's little daughter stood in the doorway...it was as if he had waited for her to come...she said 'oh look he's opened his eyes'...what she didn't realize was she had actually seen him enter Heaven. My heart goes out to you and your family.
