Wednesday's Women No. 34

Where was I? Why no where, I just kept moving my legs.

What did I see? Why nothing, I never once lifted my eyes.

Who was I with? Why no one, I have an inner circle of only one.

When did I go there? Why I can’t even remember, I can’t tell the difference between day and night.

Why can’t I describe anything? Why because I was so busy looking at my list of things to do that I failed to notice any life around me at all.

I was just thinking of this a day ago, how all the daily concerns are so unimportant, yet we must do them and they eat up our life's energy. I am not sure what the answer is, but for me it is to do less and laugh more. Big hugs. xoxo

Oh I work so hard to not live that way! All my love to you my sweet.

Good morning, dear Renee.

So many people live their own little lives, never seeing the world around them, or caring about anyone but themselves. "Me first - screw you." "If it doesn't affect me, it doesn't matter." It's the world we live in today, unfortunately.

You are such a bright shining star in this world. We are all like moths fluttering to your light and your wisdom and your generosity. We bloggers are hungry for connection, and you have a gift for drawing us all to you in droves. I think you are one of the most valuable and insightful teachers humanity has ever known. Truly.

I am honored to call you my dear friend. You inspire me.

Love you,
xoxoxo

Hmmmm, now that sounds like me. Always with a list of things to do and sometimes not really seeing around me. Actually the only reason I write down list of things is because if I don't....I'll forget what it is I was supposed to do. hee/haw...lol. Have a great day, hope you are doing good.

Being on vacation right now without a list to do, I am seeing lots of things I usually don't notice. And because I am in one of the most beautiful spots on earth (to me), I am trying to take it all in! Sending lots of love to you and your family!! Love, Silke

How beatific to be transported like that, to be out of the present, into new digs. Sometimes, that is the only thing that keeps us sane.

I like the photo. Very regency, and I do like the dress.

And yes, it's true, one can become so engrossed in micro stuff, the real picture becomes blurry.

Lift you eyes, stop your feet from moving, close your hands around a flower, paint a smile on your face, and remember that you are loved, now choose only one thing from your list before going back to what you were doing. I love you and I want you to remember that,

So lift your eyes and start skipping and smiling and singing and forget your worries. Life is beautiful, and sharing love is the best we can do.
I came over to you from our friend Lori.
I`m sending you blessings!

Oh, this woman is so not you, with your awareness of things going on around you, and your circle of many. The only thing tha fits is that somehow, astoundingly, you keep moving your legs.

Hmm I'm afraid that's me sometimes. Getting too absorbed in the minutia to appreciate the bigger picture. Thanks for the heads up! *must pay attention*

That last line... "because I was so busy looking at my list of things to do that I failed to notice any life around me at all" - cancer has made me slow down and not be like that, but I'm already afraid of returning to it along with 'normal' life...

Ces Adorio said...

HAHAHAH! That's right! She is text messaging her fashion designer "Waz up? Hey dude man, da dress is so not cool."

Linda Sue said...

She has probably saved herself a lot of money and time and grief- staying small like that- but, yeah, that sort of misses the point...

what is the point in living if one is totally list absorbed and does not see the sunray ar one

I think we all forget to take time to smell the roses. That's OK as long as we remember to do so again.

We sometimes walk through life as zombies. One foot in front of the other, numb to everything around us. For me this is a sign I need to be selfish, take time for myself to rejuvenate my spirit. It may be a long hot bath with candles and music, a long walk with/in nature, a quiet place and time to meditate, sitting out in the sun for an hour reading my favorite book. When life seems to spin out of control while you're in slow motion, step back, step into yourself, assess yourself, pray, meditate, walk with your Higher Power and talk, listen. Slow the world around you down to a manageable pace. Focus on one thing if possible, breathe deep, slow things down, breath deep, pray for calmness to come into your being, breathe deep and meditate on the soul, your spirit aching with worries, breathe deep, let go.... breathe deep, fill yourself with the healing power of Life, of Love , of Hope.....Breathe in the Peace, breathe out the chaos... just for now, just for this moment, breath deep.....knowing you are loved, breathe deep, knowing that you are never alone, breathe deep, feel God's Healing Power and Grace, Breathe deep..... Thoughts and Prayers go up for you and your family. Love and Light, Nina P.

Funny that only in some people- these questions keep popping up. They never quite go away and the quest to be stronger and keeping on continues.

Hey there,
Thankfully my Renee is in the moment, living life with gusto, like no one else I've ever met.

She is a precious soul who teaches others to be strong, through her example of strength.

She is the extraordinary one, I am blessed to call friend!

"I was so busy looking at my list of things to do that I failed to notice any life around me at all."

Yes. Which is why I don't text message, and a lot of other things.

The only problem is that, if I don't have a list, I don't get anything done (except look after the puppies -- about whom I've blogged again).

Renee, I hope the "whatever" in your life soon starts to turn into something even a bit more like "WOW!"

Jos said...

Soooo true this ... I so often forget to notice what is bang snack in front of me. Thank you for the reminder Renee. And thank you so much for wanting to help. Help is always near at hand and you already do help far more than you could ever realise. You have such a big heart Renee, your warmth can be felt even over this great distance. I am making progress. xx Jos

Indeed, she does look like she is texting, but in a more regal regency like way... ;D

Ah, Renee... you are like Angela said "A bright shining star in this world..." To me, you are what I wish my own mother was like, a wise councilor and friend.

You've gone to the most difficult land, the land of ambiguity, yet you still think about others.

Dear lady you are one of my biggest inspirations. I wish you were at least a few houses up the street so that I could come chat with you (over tea and scones of course). Wouldn't that be something?

Sigh

We all have days like that, don't we? I have a witty friend in South Carolina from whom I borrow phrases often. (Every writer needs one witty friend! LOL!) She used to say "So-and-so has her head so far up her butt she rolls through life." I've used it often and at times, I'm sure it's been each of us.

I just cannot picture you missing much, Renee! (By the way, thank you soooo much for the beautiful poetic card. I will treasure it...my first piece of snail mail from Canada! Yea! No longer a virgin! I love you, Renee. You are so thoughtful and kind). Love & Blessings!!!

Witty, witty, witty. And funny. You do humour in a way that not a lot of people would get. It's my kind of humour. The silent and internal laugh that lingers on for ages, reinforced by the knowledge that we're all in on the joke together.

Many thanks.

Greetings from London.

I used to do this, walking home from school, nose buried in a book. One day walking through a church parking lot I veered off course a bit and walked right into a thick low hanging tree limb - it hit my forehead dead center and I nearly knocked myself out. Of course that was right as someone was walking out of the church to witness my lack of attention and make a remark/judgment about my not paying attention to what I was doing, not ask if I was okay while the stars were circling my head!! I admit, it didn't stop me from reading as I walked - I loved my books too much, and lived too far from school to be able to wait till I got home to get back to them :) but I was more careful about looking up and down and all around more often!
