Oooh, loved The Wizard of Oz ones - so dark yet so true to the originals.

All three of these pictures give me the feeling of protection - even "King Kong" at the top has his arms up as though he is embracing and protecting someone. The middle one is very serene. I get the sense that the child is tired, maybe sleeping. And of course, the Wizard of Oz with all of its wonderful messages about the human attributes.
Love to you

I do not know how to interpret these images. My brain is tired and my heart is numb. Too much balancing as we recognize sorrow and continue with the business of living and be present. Have a beautiful day renee.

LOL Renee! Of course, there is another possible scenario - I am old and senile! This would most likely be the case, as I have seen the Wizard of Oz numerous times, and didn't register! YIKES!

I love these paintings! They're very dark, and ominous. Like the lion, you need a more than a little courage to go there. :) Sending you a hug, and you'll be happy to know I ate an entire plum yesterday! YAY! One whole fruit! And I had my cheerios as a veg again this morning.:) Take good care of yourself. xoxo Pam

You know I am a "Wizard of Oz" lover anyway I can get it. Natalie was always so freaked out by those flying monkeys and still hates them to this day...three great pics!

I do like the last picture...even though it is on the dark side, I agree with Audrey...it gives a feeling of protection. Thank you, my love, for your prayers for Ryan. When he let me know that they were okay, I said Thank God, and he replied, "yes, I already did". Sending you all my love, Deborah

good morning, as is my routine, i'll be back to nibble on these later, but as is also my routine, i wanted to stop by and say i hope you are doing okay. i am sure your heart is confused and heavy. i deeply feel bella's loss in my own way and i cannot comprehend what the universe had in mind(always qualified with a 'yet').

when i read all your comments and see how many people you inspire, it makes me happy. i'm sure you too!

love

Flying monkeys and Poppies and Dorothy, oh, my! Love the Wizard of Oz theme. The flying monkey reminds of a gargoyle, which my sister and son-in-law both love. Me, I have them in my head and don't much care for them.

Love, Blessings and Peace to you today, dearest, sweet Renee!! xoxo

Those flying monkeys always promted a fast exit by yours truly. They freak me out!

The second one is one of my fave illustrators, Lizbeth Zwerger. I have this book and I adore this picture.

Dinner, number three, is incredible in its own surreal way. That guy is wearing a brain hat. Oh, duh, it must be Scarecrow. Dorothy is so goth, hilarious! I love the lions humanesque eyes and mouth. I think the tin man could take on the terminator!

Nice group this week, as always.

What a week it was, eh Renee? Jeez Louise.

Sending love across the miles.

xoxo

Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas any more.

I am doing well Renee! If I just take each moment as it comes. Then in the moment all is well, and you my pretty?

Good morning Renee!! Ooooo th Wizard of Oz. I was never a fan really...but since Nonni adores the story I have come to love it too. The flying monkeys - not so much they kinda scare me like clowns - yikes - this is a stunning picture though, it captures the creepyness so well.

The second one is sweet.
The last one is amazing really - I love it. I guess I have come to love the amazing ilustrations of the story more than the movie.
Wonderful Fantasy Friday hon!!
Love ya, Sarah

As a kid, I was terrified of the flying monkeys -- and these pictures remind me why!

I need a drink! Do you have anything in red or yellow with one of those teeny tiny umbrella and cherry or olive? May I have some peanuts with my drink too please?

the middle one 'does' it for me.

Ces Adorio said...

Well, I don't know if I can finish one. It better be sweet because I do not like bitter drinks. May I have 2 umbrellas in one drink please? Oh and a stogie, that one's for Bella.
