Oh boy! You have a way with Wordless Saturday Dearie!

I would actually like to donate my skeleton to a medical school so some handsome medical student can handle my bones.

I choose the little girl.

Hello Renee!
Hugs to you today.
I thought of you in the middle of the night. I prayed for you.

Well I actually have decided to have direct cremation, no donating organs, no memorial, no nothing. At least that's what I have written down. Of course if I change my mind, then my choice would be the beautiful child.
Hope you are okay, have a great day.

Hello my beloved Renee. Please stop by for a spot of tea with Alice today. But be warned, she is in quite a foul mood! **blows kisses** Deborah

Powerful reminder. Thank you for helping to create an awareness for organ donation!
My sister is waiting for a liver transplant...The gift of life rather than death...it's something we should all really search our hearts about. We can make a difference.
Have a Wonderful Day, Renee!

WOW!!! Impact statement or what??

I was pretty sure she would be happy there. She has a way of getting to people, thanks to Meta's incredible talent and magic.
Love you too Renee.

Dropping by to congratulate you on the You Make Me Smile Award presented to you by Lola.
Also Lola gave me your super Renee Award a while back.
I like your post about donations. They can have anything they want when I pop my clogs but it may not be working to full capacity as all of me is a bit past it's sell by date. I'm off to read some more. Nice to meet you - Eddie

Meghann said...

I stalk the treasuries. Though, considering they come due about once per day, I'm not that great at getting them, LOL.
I know a family whose daughter died - she helped SEVEN different people. Seven! Amazing! Talk about living forever (or at least almost forever) :)

I am a donor! That is a powerful, profound ad!!
Blessings,

Renee, my friend and I have taken up one of your family's beloved expressions...no, not the F-bomb!! For shit's sake! Makes me giggle every time I say it! Love to you!

Oh, of course prayer Renee. It's just a choice I made long ago. I pray to God for thanks every day, and when the time comes he will hopefully accept me. Take care.

Marie S said...

Thank you Renee. She is a special little girl, but all grandmas say that.
I just love this picture of her.

No what happens?? I am almost afraid to ask? LOL!!

Sarah said...

I like this-I will do something about it. I used to have a card but God knows where it went.
THat doormouse does like to get around. He loves pockets, they are one of his favourite places. Also it is nice for him to get away from MH as he is a bit of a bully.

Thanks Renee!! I think so!!

LOL!!
Out of practice???

Eddie Bluelights said...

Hi again Renee
Thanks for your lovely comment.
I note you have breast cancer - very sorry to see this. My hafe has it as well, a mastectomy 12 years ago, Tamoxifen for 5 years, Chemo and Radio. OK for ages then Lympodaema, secondary to bones then on to Tamoxifen again - seems to be doing a good holding operation. Bless her cotton socks! We are a close family and it helps to deal with problems like this. Lola said you are a real lady - I can see that. God Bless - I'm signing up as a follower ~ Eddie

Deborah said...

I don't really need the dormouse back, as Meow-Meow brought me a new critter yesterday...a lovely naked green catepillar right to my feet in my office! **kisskiss**

yoborobo said...

WOW - what a great ad. Sometimes I wish I could work in advertisement, but then I think again. I'd have to sell stuff I don't like, and that would, uh, suck. :) Someone had on their 'thinking cap' when they came up with this.

I was thinking of you today, and hoping you are feeling well. And wishing I could bring you over some lemon cake and iced tea so we could chat. :) xoxo Pam

Simply powerful.

I posted my little business on my back door if you care to look. Hope you like.

Thanks for inspiring me, and I don't just mean with the poem. You, dear one.

Eddie Bluelights said...

Hi Renee
Just a quick reply.
Yes, my wife (spelled correctly that time) has secondary breast cancer so it is breast cancer in some bones - right shoulder, some ribs and part of neck. The Tamoxifen seems to be holding it at bay for now (thank God)and may do so for a while with two more drugs behind it. She is taking a drug (cannot remember what for now) to prevent Osteoperosis in the bones. Bye for now ~ Eddie

Sarah said...

I'll tell you what it is. They think they are so clever. They see the little dormouse who is sweet but simple and they just look down on him. I think they should have maybe gone to finishing school.

You are absolutely and completely my hero!! I went to the doctor this past winter because of some soreness etc. The nurses eyes actually welled with tears when I described my symptoms. She informed me that I could likely have IBC. Tests and such were performed and mine turned out to be too much coffee, but the scare of it made me more aware of the fact that you cannot take a moment for granted, that we must live and be Human Beings and not always Human Doings. Thank you for your beautiful website, I will always keep you in my prayers!

Baino said...

Great ad! Mine are all donatable but I'm not sure anyone will want them by the time I've finished abusing them! The important thing is to let those you love KNOW that it's your wish to be a donor. It's a hard decision to take when the time comes so they need to be prepared.

kj said...

renee, i think this is the best and most effective ad i have ever seen. i'm a target audience: i don't think my organs are designated and they should be. so thanks.

hey! i got something lovely in the mail today. what wish(es) will i make with a magic mushroom that grants wishes....?

Oh Renee, I have partied all day and consumes 6,233 points. My daily limit is 20. What to do!?! Sweet dreams, love.

kj said...

why the soreness?

yes, i'm super stoked. i feel for her right now because it's all so overwhelming, but i can't wait to see her in her new place. i miss her alot and it's only been one day. i told her someday we are renting a convertible and setting cruise control to winnipeg. we'll listen to the soundtrack from 'corrina corrina' and 'priscilla queen of the desert' and sing the whole way. we'll pull up in front of your house, hope there's time to meet wahid and your sisters and all three children and of course josephine, and then we will go out for hot fudge sundaes, maybe banana splits, and then do whatever from there.

that's the plan moon sister. and i'm sticking to it...

ha, the word verif is 'bankable'. that sounds comforting!

renee, i don't think you told me but i'm not a bit surprised. i love almost every single song on the album. i dance wildly by myself. have you ever seen the movie 'sordid lives'? it's similiar and i'll bet you would love it too.

i did a tarot reading about you, renee, and guess what? no swords. no bad cards. i wasn't a bit surprised by that either.

sleep tight moon sister.

Yes, very true. I have filled in an organ donor form. But I only want to donate my organs if they can be used in an actual person, not for medical students to practice on. I know it sounds silly, because I will be dead, but I really do not like the idea of students making jokes about or manhandling my bits ...

I decided many years ago and it was the one on the right. Many thanks. I love your soundless Saturdays. I hope you have a good rest of the weekend.

Thank you for visiting my blog!

I'm an organ donor. I don't know how people could not be. If I'm no longer using them, maybe someone else can! :) As with wealth and possessions, you can't take them when you go.

You have a very lovely blog--I plan to come back!

I checked the little box for organ donation on my first driver's license and have kept it up to date ever since. Sadly, as I get older, there are fewer and fewer body parts worth harvesting...

Thank you for this wonderful post; I arrived here via Cuban in London.

Thank you for visiting me today. I am so sorry that you are going through a horrible battle with cancer. I am a proud organ donor.
Take care of yourself!

This is a beautiful post. My Mother was given ten more years so far thanks to a donated liver. My cousin who served his country in Vietnam as a young man was not so lucky. This is a cause that I believe in very strongly. When my sons were teenagers and their friends received their drivers licenses, they'd all come to my house first to proudly show me the heart that designated them as organ donors. May I share this post on my blog? How can I link back to it? I still can't figure some of it out after three years. God Bless you!

Renee dear, I just wanted to check on you after your sugar high yesterday, dancing on Junie's piano, hiking up your skirt and collapsing on the ground to flirt with the dormouse. We will have to watch you more closely at the next party. But honestly, after seeing those stunning legs of yours, I can understand why you hiked up your skirt. **blows kisses** Deborah

Hi Renee! Back again. I am an artist, thought I would grow up to just be that, but life took me another direction. So I will be circling around back to it soon. I am very grateful that I am where I am today and I thank God for it. We're hoping my husband survives and overcomes his cancer to realize the retirement he has worked so hard to get to. We are believing he will. Keeping you in my prayers, Renee. You're a survivor, too!

Bah hahaha awesome, I am so showing this to my Mum. Whenever there is a scene on a Dr show where they have to ask the grieving relative/lover if they can have the organs for some poor soul who will die like NOW if they don't get it and no one else in the world is a match.

I say that people should chose now what they want to do, so that people don't have to think about it when they can't really think of anything.]

She says that no one should have to think about it and its all too horrible and blah blah blah

:P

Giving away what you don't need to save lifes should be preached more!

I went to a party last Friday and on the kitchen bulletin board was a quote from Erma Bombeck:

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me.”

This is what I strive for and hope that I share my God-given talents unitl I have none left.

Ces Adorio said...

In essence, how I interpret it is this: I need to be productive and achieve for a good cause, being altruistic, generous, kind and giving, for if I undersachieve or be idle, I am not using my talents. Further, this is open to personal interpretation, one can be usefull and generous to a smaller and more intimate number of people such as families and friends. Lighting a candle does not necessarily mean lighting a giant candle, one little candle will do if it will shed light for the next person who will also light a candle. Pretty soon everyone lights a candle and then the world is bright...oh uh! May not be a good idea. Al Gore and his Global earming nazis are going to reprimand us for the carbon emission. Uhm, back to darkness!
