Wherever God lays Her glance life starts clapping. The myriad creatures grab their instruments and join the song. Whenever love makes itself known against another body, the jewel in the eye starts to dance.
"When the soul is plunged in the fire of divine love, like iron, it first loses its blackness, and then growing to white heat it becomes like unto the fire itself. And lastly, it grows liquid, and, losing its nature, is transmuted into an utterly different quality of being. And as the difference between iron that is cold and iron that is hot, so is the difference between soul and soul, between the tepid soul and the soul made incandescent by divine love."
Richard of St. Victor - de Quattuor Gradibus Violentae Charitatis
Beautiful, Renee! And that photo is all about youth, and love, and passion. SIGH. :) Much love to you on this glorious summer day in Maryland. A hummingbird just came to my window. I'll send him over to see you. xoxoxo Pam
I can't see the image. I can only read. I like it when people define "God" according to their personal interpretation. God has been a man, a woman, a tree, sex, snake, thunder, cyclone, a friend, a birthday cake...aren't humans great? We are defiant until we are faced with fear for our lives and survival, even those we love, and then even the athiest among us professes and exclaims "Oh dear Gawd, please Hep me, Hep me Lowrd, Hep me!"
The Hafiz poem is so beautiful. Just as real love is beautiful, whether you are old or young, gorgeous or homely, young or old. To become one in love with another person completely, body, mind, and soul, is like catching a glimpse of the Divine.
I hope you have a good day, dear one. And I hope Sheldon and Jacquie are finding peace and comfort and ease from their pain.
Well, now that I can see the image I can understand fully why God's name is being invoked here for these couple will soon be meeting their god with the expression: "Oh god!...Oh god...Oh god...I'm coming!"
oh la la ...the wild side of Renee!!! I almost spit out my coffee when I saw this...you are so cheeky!!! and I love that you always grab our attention!!!
LOL Renee..I love the contrast here..your sense of humor and the true beauty of the shot. Who said youth? I recognize this position..where are the handcuffs - giggle snort! Seriously I loved the quote! Love you hon, Sarah
I love Hafiz, have a book of just his hot stuff. And that's a perfect photo to go with it...
But here's a question I've always had (especially now that I can no longer do them): How come it's ALWAYS the woman who had to perform all those figure 8, upside down ballerina-type positions during sex? WHY IS THAT? You never seem to see the man all feet in the air and twisted in strange positions....LMAO! Cheeky, indeed! I love you, Renee! Hugs and Blessings!!
Oh I like your sassiness today, Lovee. Beautiful poem. I LoVe the poem Leks quoted in the comments. Sending you all my love on desert monsoon clouds billowing your way. **blows kisses** Deb
Renee - fabulous post. I remember making love in the afternoon, when you didn't need ibuprofen to recover from the athletics. Beautiful, apposite poem and image.
Love you girl, and your sense of timing. About the photo being only "youth" ah... but the passion of the years, the look that speaks of other times, the Cosmo's Moon, remember? Dead? Gone? never! Just waiting for the right touch, the right look, more valuable now than when we were young, not because we are not so prone to jump at the first kiss but because like a good tree, now we can rest in the shadow of years of learning what is valuable about love and sex and enjoy it like a good wine. Sip by sip, the glass is never empty...
'cheeky' is a good word Ribbon used. I love the poem, the idea of joining in the act of creation, the act of loving, touching, enjoying pleasure and giving pleasure.
Well, Renee, you surprise me all the time. I was just thinking: "I'll look at Renee's blog and then I think I'll join my husband in bed." Now I KNOW I'm going to join my husband in bed...;-) You are so...amazing! I love that poem and I love that love is so beautiful! Off I go... Love, Silke
Renee- OK, now love you 1000 times what I loved you yesterday. Damn! I wanna curl up next to you while you tell me stories. I'm thinking you could tell some good uns! Please don't ever shed this side of you. ~rick

Oh Renee - I love you. Your daring, your verve, your quirkiness, your tongue in cheek show such a zest for life.
BTW, when we think of your current situation, this post seems like a real affirmation of the life force that cannot be quelled.
I was experimenting with my Nanny-Cam and you caught me!
I look good though, right? :)
Have a wonderful day Renee! Is it hot there too? It was still 87 degrees here last night at 8:30!
