Wednesday's Women No. 18

She knew she was deep. In fact, almost as deep as the mud puddle she was sitting in.

Her thoughts were original thoughts. She pondered death and spirits and skulls and crossbones. There were no thoughts in her head about school dances and prom dresses. Oh no, not for her were the simple pleasures of high school, oh no not for her.

After all she had pink hair and TATTOOS. She was unique.

She was so busy thinking her deep thoughts that she never realized that almost everyone else had pink hair too. And that in fact, a person was more unique in this day and age if they didn’t have their own personal license plate tattooed on their skin.

Ha! She is so lovely in her "uniqueness!" It seems to me that as she sits meditatively in her mud hole, her youth is rapidly dying. What then becomes of her lovely tattoos?
Love you. audrey

Thank you Sweet Renee! You are truly my "cyber goddess," watching over each of us and offering words of comfort and wisdom. You are loved!

Now, about the left side and shoulder - is your doc aware? What is being done to relieve it?
Take care Darlin'. We need you!

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog today Renee!
This story struck me as funny and made me smile.
Poor little self delusional girl...but I guess as long as she's content in her deepness, that's okay. Have a good one!!!

Giggle as soon as I saw this I thought of Hanna. She did the emmo red hair thing for a while - thinking too that she was unique - until she relalized that tie dye was the new unique (I was sooo cool for a little bit). She pierced her lip - against my wishes. Hmmmm... love the mud puddle - kind of like where teens are sloshing around in the mud looking for the real them - their true "unique".

I think most of us have sat in mud puddles from time to time. But it must be fun to have pink hair. Maybe someday.

Hmmm, kind of like being a legend in her own mind ;)
I've certainly been there as a teenager. Yikes.

I hope your body is being kinder to you today.
Wish I could help make the bad stuff go away.

Love you~

Renee, thank you for reading. I am sometimes in 2 minds about whether to post or not, I don't want to cause pain. But it is life isn't it, it is happening to people everywhere, and it is f*#king hard to watch, let alone go through. I admire you for your honesty and your strength. And I am grateful for insights into how mum must be feeling.

Life can be a real shit at times...luckily there are other times in between to balance it all out....usually.

I answered you this on my blog comments but wanted to make suree you read it. You also inspired todays post...thanks :)

Love to you xxx

You know how to make a girl smile...
Loved this post.
I would love a tattoo of Betty Boop but I am a coward and think I am too old now... should have done it years ago!

Oh, don't we all want to feel unique!! To believe we're the center of the universe and that we're special in some way? And, the truth is, we are. And, the other truth is that we all feel this way because we want to be loved. During my rare state of "consciousness," I catch myself doing this. Thinking I'm somehow smarter, etc. But, I realize, that this is just a need I have.

On a lighter note, that tattoo thing is a great idea. I'm going to get all my various passwords tattooed on my arm so I don't have to reset it every other week:)

Blessings and love,

Nancy

Hmmm, I did get out of the mud puddle, but I got my first tattoo at 40, my 2nd one at 45, my 3rd one at 50 and well, I'm not divulging my age when I got my 4th dragonfly tattoo!!! LOL! Great post!!

PS: Am planning my 5th dragonfly tattoo this year. I read a quote somewhere that said: "BE ART. GET A TATTOO." I love that!

Well I was in mud puddles today, out in my backyard. Lucky I had my garden shoes. Hope you have a great day tomorrow.

My best friend & I always said we were going to get a tattoo (way before tattoos were the in-thing to do), but we never did ... just the stick-on kind. Now my friend is gone and I'm left really missing her. I almost wish we had done it. I never forget our little fantasy or her. I have a little shrine on my desk honoring Gayle.

Well, that's irony for you. Oh, the turmoil of trying to eek out an identity during adolescence. Blah!

Isn't it funny how, for all her goth-ness and skull&crossbones, she looks like a beautiful flower growing in the swamp?

Why yes! I have two license plates both are waxing - as apposed to waning moons - one with ivy and one with an orchid on it. I haven't had pink hair though - at least not that I am aware of.... Lovely unique story!

:) This made me giggle! This was my group of friends in secondary school. We were too cool!
Although I have no tattoos, and only dyed my hair for the first time last week... but I was deep dammit!

Hope you are doing well

*hugs*
