Wednesday's Women No. 33

Olie was taught never to talk about the things that did not bring praise to the Lord. She was under the assumption that like Jesus, she too must sacrifice herself for the sins of the world.

Olie was the kind of girl that everyone said was a good girl. In fact, Olie was the kind of girl that you could do anything to and she would know never to speak of it.

Olie believed that one day she would be saved. Olie believed that with all of her heart.

Every day I hope that Olie will speak, that Olie will unlearn what she has been taught, that Olie will in fact talk, so that she will indeed be saved.

Hello dear Renee,

Another terrific story that I'll be thinking about for quite a while. Poor Olie. She has no mouth, she has no nose. Even if she could take a deep breath, find her voice and speak, would anyone listen?

I hope you have a good day today.

Love and hugs,
Angela

And while we're add it, I want Olie to question things. Question everything! I've never understood why we can't do that. After all, life is crazy-making. Why shouldn't we be full of doubt? Won't God understand that? I think so. I've never liked that fact that I am supposed to feel guilty for looking at the world and doubting. :) Me and Thomas.
Great story, Renee! xoxoxox Pam

I hear you. And with you, I'd hear Olie, too.

(FYI - from now on these little smiles will refer to your post of a few days ago: "the universe is brought back from the brink of destruction very time you smile"

You are a gift to us all.

Hi Rene,

we are always saying to mr. ryan, age 2: "use your words, ryan. tell me what you want/need/think in words"

it strikes me that is the way to start hearing and knowing your own voice.

love you, renee.

I knew a few Olies in my time. I hope they woke up and found a voice, too.

Oh, and by the way, is that Crasher Squirrel in your header art? He's everywhere, EVERYWHERE!

Well, if someone drew a line and a dot on her face she can talk and breath! Geez, some artists make a dramatic spin for running out of pen and ink.

HAHAHAHAH!

If Olie doesn't speak or can't we should speak for her. The sisterhood is powerful, love is our most effective weapon. She will be safe when we all are.
And she should stop believing that sacrifices are offerings. Sacrifices are sacrifices. Offerings are gifts. If I were God I will only take the latter.

Some kind of courage. said...

it feels like its been a while since ive visited your blog--anyone's blog.
But I'm glad to be back-

Renee, such a loving post.
I have two sayings for the day. From two magnets I bought today.
1: Work is for people who don't know how to garden

2: A women is like a tea bag, you never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.

He, he, cool!

Have a great day Renee!

Olie doesn't have a mouth ... Where is Olie's voice? Where does it go if she has no mouth? How does she breathe?!

... I've always been *deeply* creeped out by faces that are drawn or painted with no mouth ... That was my experience for so long ... no voice; barely enough breath to stay alive ... It's still a struggle ...

Speak, Olie ... Name yourself ... Run as fast as you can from that field of crosses ...

Talk about being rich Renee, I am a billionare for I have won the lottery in friendship! You know what I mean. Throughout my life I have been surrounded by people who are loving, caring and loyal. While I am not the diligent type, I have nurtured my relationships at levels that were mutually acceptable, respectful and virtuous to both parties and therefore it must be the reason why even though I struggle because I am so hard at myself for being neglectful, when I call my old friends, it seems like we parted yesterday. We pick up from where we left off. As for the blogs, it is enriching and it is a blessing that I have you. I love you very much so. And then there is Arija! I clasp my hands in prayer when I think of her! And as for Bella, words are too feeble to describe my friendship with her, but my heart, my mind and soul rejoice. You are my Three Queens!

Baino said...

She doesn't need a mouth to speak, as long as she has hands. But she's got to stop looking over her shoulder . .no good will come of that!

Oh, Renee, this is SO powerful. So BEYOND powerful!! Thank you for this. You are so filled with wisdom!!

The God of most mortal men is not the same God I know. I left a church once in the middle of a sermon. The preacher was beating the pulpit, all red in the face, and screaming about the WHORE, the PROSTITUTE who lead men astray in some Bible story and relating it to a real life adultry situation, names omitted, of course. I walked out because I wanted to scream at the man, "WHAT ABOUT THE F'ING MAN, YOU HYPOCRITE. IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO, ASSHOLE!" Many days I think back on this and wish I'd stood up and told him off, the sanctimonious bastard!! God loves women, even prostitutes. Bless you, dearest friend of my heart. Blessings, Love and Peace!!!!!!!!!

At 5'2"? that would be something. I love you to pieces and you would get a crick on your neck if you even think of looking up, lol.

There is an old saying in Spanish about the devil knowing more because he is old than because he is the devil. Hmmm, since I am older than you I will say that is my story and I am sticking to it. Love you. I am putting together something that should be done over the weekend. Then it will fly to you, Jacquie and Sheldon. No deviled anything there, not even eggs. Good night love.

Renee- one of the things I like most about you is that you aren't afraid to throw the spaghetti on the ceiling to see if it will stick. I guess what I mean is that you throw things out here, to us in Blog World, and you make us think.

That's good, and brave. I think that's what a teacher does. :)

Did you write that Renee? that's lovely and the picture speaks volumes as she does not.

I truly believe that God did not sacrifice Jesus. Can I say that outloud? just have. Jesus was beautiful and caring, a faultless man - when did things get so twisted? Alas I hope someday humans unravel the past and grow together.
