I saw the first image and immediately thought of my eight-year-old daughter. Despite having a strong character (too strong, sometimes, mind :-D) I sometimes see her as a fragile creature. Your first painting reminded me of the dangers ahead of her. And why do I feel like this? Is it because she is a girl and I am man? Because I am - unintentionally - belittling her? I don't feel the same way about my son. Protective, yes, but not overprotective.
It goes to show, just the one image and a myriad thoughts.
Renee, I am SO in that first painting!!! Love the tree keeping the weeling safe! Delilghtful. Prayers for a peaceful weekend for you filled with the love of your family. Please kiss Jacquie on her left cheek, high on the cheek bone just below the eye. **kisskiss** Deb
wow, these artworks are amaaaazing! i love fantasy friday! :) the girl in the first one is so delicate, and i love that thick tree hand...but all of them are beautiful! thank you!
Renee, I love the first image. The girl on the turtle with the fairy peeking around the corner...really neat. The last the little girl is just precious. I love Fantasy Friday!
All those paintings are just like a dream...surreal and entirely possible if you're dreaming. I can stare at them forever and get lost in them. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful images, Renee, but they make me feel just a bit sad. Thinking of you. Was actually thinking of you yesterday, wondering at your strength, and too, if there was anything I could do besides to lift you up in prayer.
The artwork you share is so wonderful and thought provoking...speaking differently to each of us that stops by here...or maybe not so differently... Thanks for sharing and being you.xoxo
I've never appreciated fantasy much before but am now growing to understand its place in this sometimes cruel world. Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
Oh Renee..you know you would get me with these..wonderful delighful touching pictures!! I do love the whimsy. Wonderful choices hon. I especially like the first one!! The last one makes me want to pick her up and hold her. I am late..Nonni's party yesterday kept me hoppin'!! I am starting the tea shop today..anything you think I should include?? Hello my darling friend, I have not written anything on your blog for a while but I do still come visiting all the time to make sure you are ok..♥
The picture "Island" that you have used here is really special to me.. I drew it about a year after my Father died and the first time my Mother saw it she started to cry... she said it touched her deeply but she couldn't say why, last year I gave it to her as a christmas present and it now hangs above her fireplace...
I have been soaking up every moment that I can with my new little Grandaughter, it's so wonderful, she has given life new meaning...
love to you and all of your family at christmastime.. XOXOXO

Good morning Dear RS...
B) The turtle and the tree have rescued her! (Probably summoned by the ever-watchful fairy.)
L) I believe this fine old gentleman has decided to 'go quietly into the dark good night.'
D) Kathy is amazing with those colored pencils!
This young girl seems to have become an island unto herself.
