H = Angels And Goddesses

Harahel is the radiant angel who protects libraries, archives, schools and universities. Harahel opens our minds and hearts to new ideas while inspiring us to use our knowledge in life-affirming ways.

Harahel is a guiding spirit who teaches us that knowledge is useless without wisdom. Harahel encourages true wisdom and through that wisdom we are to generate kindness and love. Harahel is an intellectual who is always busy in the great library of Heaven.

Hygieia is the Greek Goddess of health and cleanliness. She is the daughter of Asclepius who is the God of medicine and healing and was a companion of the Goddess Aprhodite. Her sisters were Panakeia (All-Cure) and Iaso (Remedy).

Hygieia is usually shown holding a snake which drinks from a cup that she also holds. The snake is depicted as a symbol of healing and rejuvenation in this case, as the snake sheds its skin, so too can the human body shed disease only to survive it.

Hygieia is the source of the word ‘hygiene.’ Although she is the goddess of physical health she is also a protectress of mental health.

Hygieia became extremely important after the sufferings of the plague had directed special attention to sanitary matters.

Good Morning Lovee. Jacquie has been on my mind a lot, and therefore in my prayers even more. Would you please gently gather her in your arms and whisper to her that I love her more than I ever thought possible to love a soul I have never met... **blows kisses** Deb

Wonderful angels to have in our lives.
I love the contrast of Julie's sweet contemporary angel to that of Gustav's.

Happy Monday raven sister.

I wish you a gentle day ;)

I love both of these. I didn't know about Harahel, but she is now dear to my heart, as I am a book-lover. I love to think there is a heavenly library! :) And it's nice that the snake finally got a decent role, after being portrayed as evil so many times. I like that visual of shedding the skin of disease. Beautiful artwork, Renee! Much love to you, my dear friend. xoxoxo Pam

Renee: What an interesting and informative post. Love the Klimt painting of her. Thank you.

Thank you! That was very informative to me. Now I know where the snake in the doctor's symbol comes from...it all makes sense.

Harahel must be my constant companion too, because I love learning new things every day. If I can't feed my mind, I get bored or numb.

I hope you're doing well today!
Love,
Doris :-)

You know what sets you apart from the rest? Your concern for others. I know you make light of the fact that we shower you with attention and you play along but deep down you really are concerned for others. You also have this egalitarian attitude, you are very accepting of everyone and you are very compassionate without undermining yourself...and you make everyone feel important.

I'm inspired every time I come here. Now, I'm adding two more gracious women/angel/goddess to my list of must know. Love it.

I won't lie. It hurts sometimes when I overdo it, but I try not to overdo it. Last night I wore the splint. Drawing taxes my wrists but it sure makes my heart soar especially if I am drawing for people I love. Is the wrist pain worth that much? My heart and my mind say so.

Hygieia, Panakeia..... You are educating me on the origin of words, and I find it all so fascinating. Me thinks you have a bit of Harahel's spirit in you. Gorgeous art, as well.

Yes, tell Ces to take it easy with her wrists! If she doesn't listen to me, she will listen to you.

Dear Renee, thankyou so much for reading me and commenting. I am sorry to hear your daughter has Lupus too. Does she blog? She must be very inspired by such a mother as yourself.
Such a fascinating post. Knowledge without wisdom, yes, like love without compassion or understanding. Both are essential. Happy to have you as one of my teachers :)
Do you ever read 'Life at Willow Manor'? I think you may enjoy her posts.

Always something to learn here. I knew of neither, although I am familiar with the Klimt painting.
Thanks Renee,I hope it's a sunny day in your world.

Oh, Harahel is my kind of angel! I love reading about him after spending a good part of my day organizing our huge book shelf and looking at all the wonderful books I have read and have yet to read.

And Hygieia I sort of make do with. I know she's important, but I'd rather be reading...

Hope you and your family are doing well! Love, Silke
