I got 6 right ... I'm in denial about being a superstitious person but I have already done 1 backup at work (just to be safe) ... I'm thinking the only other thing I do is "no new shoes on a table" (just in case)... oh and no dirty laundry on Jan 1st (just to be safe) ... oh and the salt over the shoulder thing (just in case) ... Okay, I heading back to denial (tomorrow – just to be safe & just in case).

P.S. Friday the 13th has always been Mom’s lucky day, so good luck Mom!

Oh man, I know all about that fucking scanxiety - I don't think that it ever goes away! And I can relate to the fears - my last visit to the Onc, he told me that I am too anxious because I identified that I seem to have one of Daria's symptoms. I know that it sounds crazy to him, but to me it is very real! But your daughter is also right - those scans are not going to give us anything we aren't already dealing with. I found that as time went on, I developed a love/hate relationship with the scans. Now I am disappointed if he doesn't order one up. I ask him. "How will you know that it isn't moving through my whole body???" He just shakes his head at me!

Hello Renne dear. Do you know how you can avoid being the 13th commenter? Create a Paper Renee, like Paper Rich or Paper Ces. I think Bella also has a Paper Bella. This is what we do. We take out our paper version and then leave a comment with our Paper Signature just like I am doing now except I am not the 13th commenter.

i had to stop after i realized that i knew that sean cunningham directed the first friday the 13th movie, and there is no possible reason that should be taking up space in my brain. the 13th floor elevators cover was a great touch, tho!

I completely missed Friday the 13th ... well almost completely.

I wanted to stop by and thank you for posting on my blog. I'm so glad you did! I read your courageous story and will keep you in my prayers. Today is my youngest brothers birthday ~ and yes, he was born on a Friday. =) Awesome post! Keep up the great blogging!

Darn. I got a four.

Whoo, I was too busy yesterday to even notice it was Friday the 13th. All in all, though, I'd say it was a good day. A major event at school that was 6 weeks in the making finally happened and went off without a hitch. Yay. I was unburdened, in more ways than one. ;)

sweetie, i dont know any of those, however i do know that my son JOSHUA was born on the 13th and he is fricken perfect( well as perfect as a 16 year old male can be !)

Well I was rubbish at that Renee! I just don't get superstition - its never meant anything to me...
We had a good Friday 13th - Red Nose Day in Britain of course, so full of laughter and kindness.
I'm glad you liked my Whimsy collage - thanks for your lovely comment.
Hope you are feeling well my friend.

Renee, I'm glad I made you laugh hard. We do need distractions and laughter more than food sometimes. Thanks for taking the time to return and encourage me. Now I can cut up all I want. What am I becoming? It must be the meds, I swear. If mother only knew about these small pick-me-up days, she would have conquered all her fears. Love you too. I'm addicted actually. More is better, like chocolate.

Now, about Friday the 13th: I grew up with all kinds of superstitions. I was born during the big war, in a small town in Italy that had already lost half of its buildings when the Allied forces settled in for a while and started dropping spam rations. I had my first solid food out of those cans. I can make a list so long that we can connect, coast to coast with all our spookiness.

Bjornik said...

I passed on answering this last friday thinking it was badluck but today I only guessed 2 correctly!haha

Jacinta said...

I love this - I didn't know any of them, though I did guess a few correctly. How incredible that a country (Italy) has removed 13 from the lottery!! How crazy is that.
Cheers Renee

This post was refreshing. I didn't realize it was actually Friday 13th until someone at work pointed it out to me. I actually keep 13 as my lucky number, as well as all odd numbers.

I've always thought of odd numbers as esthetically pleasing, and can't explain why. Uniformity and perfection are boring, but all things odd I find curious. Much like myself.

Besides, I have two black cats, and they cross my path all the time, and have always brought me good luck. Or maybe it's my Irish genes...who knows?

Happy Saint Patrick's Eve! I'm still trying to finish a project for a friend of mine, so I haven't been visiting my favorite blogs. Yikes.

btw, I like the months that have friday the 13th, because those months start on a sunday...so the calendar looks very orderly. ya know?
