Dreams Sponsored By The Letter O

Oak Tree: Symbolizes longevity, stability, strength, tolerance, wisdom and if that isn’t enough prosperity. It really means that you have built a solid foundation for your family. If the tree has acorns then they represent your climb up the social ladder and your need for higher status.

Obelisk: Represents your cold and stern nature. You need to warm up to others and soften your nature.

Ocean: Represent your emotions and feelings. The ocean is indicative of a need for spiritual refreshment, tranquility, and renewal. If the seas are rough, it is a message to you that you are able to handle life’s ups and downs. When you need it, you will show great courage.

One-Eyed: Indicates your refusal to accept another viewpoint. It suggests that you are one-sided in your ways of thinking.

Opening: There will be a strong influence and new-found inspiration entering your life. You are feeling uplifted, confident, and happy. New opportunities, insight and self-discovering are awaiting you, unleash your potential.

Oracle: Symbolizes a belief in fate. You may be seeking guidance or expressing a desire to know what the future has in store for you. It also serves as a reassurance that you are looking ahead and moving forward in a positive direction.

Orgasm: Represents an exciting end to something. What are the things that complete you? Go for them and you will get what you desire.

Ostrich: I am sure you all know where this one is going. An ostrich suggests that you are not facing reality and are living in a world of your own making. You may be in denial or unwilling to accept a situation.

Outer Space: Represents your creativity. Open your mind to let yourself see what is truly miraculous. A reminder that the only limits are the ones we place on ourselves.

Owl: Symbolizes wisdom, insight, and virtue. The owl is also synonymous with death and darkness. If you hear the hoot of an owl it foretells of disappointment and forewarns that death creeps closely in the wake of joy and health. If the owl is dead it signifies a narrow escape from desperate illness and death. We must remember that death in every sense also can be symbolic, meaning an important transition in life. *artwork by Kelly Vivanco

Oh Renee, I am sorry I made you feel nauseous!
Yes, different chemos cause different side effects (weight loss, nausea, etc). That was one of the factors that prompted the study - why did people with my cancer (NOTORIOUS for weight loss) stop eating when they were in treatment.
As well, I do know that some steroids, particularly those given to women with breast cancer, make people bloat. Mine didn't do that either.
All is know is this....it is one mean, weird fucking disease!

Hi Renee, this is a great list of dream interpretations and I had these dreams except the ostrich, that's a scary bird, it's huge and quite unattractive. I am always afraid of the ocean and my ocean dreams are always dark deep waters and while I am not on the water, I am about to confront it. I had a dream about my family and my brother in law's house was flooded because all of a sudden, where our houses were located, the sea encroached upon the land. I tried to save my family and my we all got into a boat safely, nevertheless, my BIL died that year. He was only 40 years old, a handsome, good, loving family man.

I am not a professional teacher but my epsilons are students so they have spring break which means my husband and I take them somewhere so they can spend our money and make us poor parents. Someday, they may probably go on their own when they are in college and I would probably be staying at home worrying then.

Interesting how the first two commenters thought of orgasm in the same manner but expressed it slightly different. What is orgasm? I'm kidding! I'm kidding! Geesh.

So interesting!
My daughter has been recording her dreams in an interesting way--she sleeps with her cell phone and texts them to herself right after she wakes up. I'll have to share your site with her.
Have a great day Renee!

Wasn't it Anais Nin who wrote about the GONG of orgasm? Don't know why, but that always makes me laugh like a schoolgirl!! So do ostrichs - they look permanently bewildered.

Amazing O dreams, Renee. Mine has to be the ocean - it redeems me somehow, even in sleep.

You covered every single one of my favorite O's!

I love Owls and we have families of Screech Owls in the woods across the street from our house. The first time I heard one late at night I thought someone was being beheaded in the woods!! It made the hair stand up on the back of my neck. My country son-in-law said, "Oh, Miss Marion, that's just an old Screech Owl!"

I laugh now because I hear them so often, I take them for granted. I grew up with the superstition about Owls fortelling death. Well, if that were the case where I live, we'd all be dead by now! I love their mating calls---it's so beautiful!

Thank God for O's!!!!!!!!

Hugs!!!! Marion, in rainy Louisiana

OH! The ocean is interesting indeed...and the whale that swoops under me to save me from drowning..Sometimes I do drown and wake with a start. The ocean is often the theme of my slumbers. What is your reoccuring theme?

mmmmmm as always I love your dream posts. I don't remember dreams often, but when I do they stick. I woke this morning from an epic dream journey, and thought of you - wondered if you'd do a dream post today and if any of the images would coincide! I think I'll have to go to past posts for this one...

I don't think there's a book out there that could interpret my dream of last night. I was chasing a monster with 3-inch fangs through the sewers of London's east end. And here's the kicker, the monster was wearing one of those white space suits with the glass bubble face mask.

While looking for the monster, I found 3 dead black labrador dogs, and I used a chimp as bait to lure the monster out of the sewer. Weird. I woke up refreshed from such a deep sleep, but tonight I won't be drinking the NyQuil.

I did not know this about the owl -our family totem! We must do more research on the symbolism of the owl.

O Renee! Great 'O's :)

My favorite images are Oak, Obelisk and Opening. I've never dreamt of an obelisk though, thank goodness. Although I'm thinking it could also be phallic~in that case I'm sure I've dreamt of it!!
Naughty, I know.

The ocean restores me too, like it does Tessa. People who follow my blog see the ocean a lot in my posts.

I hope the atart of your week is wonderful with sprinkles of Spring hope thrown in!

Hello this beautiful day Renee, that rhymes!

I Heard the Owl Call My Name
by Margaret Craven,

is the story of Mark Brian, a young vicar who is sent to a Native Indian village called Kingcome in British Columbia which speaks the language Kwakwala. He was sent by his bishop who knows that Mark is suffering from an unnamed, fatal disease which he doesn't know of because the man that sent him on his journey didn't tell him. But he had a method to his madness... he wanted Mark to live the rest of his life to the fullest and not worry about the future he will never have. In the book, Mark struggles to gain acceptance from the people in the village by stressing the unity between their beliefs and his.

How did you become an expert in dreams. I wish I could tell you all of my dreams. I have very many vivid memories, some are really exciting and I speak foreign languages fluently!

Bella Sinclair said...

Ok, I feel cheated. I've never had a dream about the "Big O". What does it mean, though, if you have a dream about the other Big O? Oprah, I mean.

Oh! I DID have a dream about you, however. You were about 10 years old with beautiful blonde curls, like a porcelain doll, but I knew immediately that it was you. It was a very sweet dream.

Ocean and female orgasm are closely related. I have heard (first-hand :-D) women often refer to their orgasm as the sound and feeling of waves crashing upon the shore. Many thanks for such a brilliant post.

Greetings from London.
